Buying a 98 RHD legacy.

Found it down the road from my house. has been sitting for 3 years , but its in decent shape. Guy wants 500 for it , but I hope to get it for less.

Anyway , it wont start. I know to check for fuel and spark , I didnt have any tools with me so I couldn't pull stuff apart today , but I dont think its getting fuel. I looked for the fuse for the fuel pump and couldn't find under the dash or the hood.

What else should I check to try tand get this thing running ? Btw he gave me the key so I can go back anytime to tinker with it.

thanks for the help in advance.

Just out of curiosity, what color is it? I would check the computer for codes and maybe that'll tell you what is wrong with it.

Hmm, I wonder if it's the one I have worked on in the past. and yeah I think they do, not positive though.

Yea but this thing has been sitting and doesn't run. Guess how much that's going to cost.

Buy garrett's wagon. It runs, Mike has made it work. So the work that's been done has bene done properly.

Buying a car that doesn't run is a crapshoot. Good luck.

Well its rusty, has 252k on it, cracked, windshield, everything else in this thread:http://www.mainelysu...ck/page__st__40. But it does run, shift, all the big things works, and it has newer rotors and pads. And its green.

I want it gone. Shoot me an offer.

pmd you. so does anybody know , and im sure its a silly question , but I should be able to put a 5spd in the rhd car right ? I know in the american cars everything bolts in , but not sure with the rhd.

Mike did it for someone. Apparently the pedal box was a pita. and you need jdm reservoir and hose. Or JDM clutch cable.

It's a weird car with hard to find parts that already has problems. It's a postal vehicle, so the driveline is completely worn out. The brakes are probably messed up. Seriously, it's a beat to raisin car that doesn't run. Don't buy it

If you wanna be all JDM RHD yo, move to Japan. Or England.

Buy something that runs for the same price and at least start with a working vehicle.

wheres the fun in that ?

SO after work I went and messed with the car some more. pull the air box off and sprayed some carb cleaner and fired up for a second. so that leads me to belive the fuel pump isn't working. so good news , it does run. hopefully I can get it for a lot cheaper.
