FWIW My experiences with turbo blankets and heat wrap.

I only drive mine on special occasions in the winter, because the car is really set up for tarmac. I spent a lot of time cutting rust out, and patching rockers prior to the build, so I'd like to avoid salt if I can. With my car being so low, I run a skidplate over the pan, and part of the...

FWIW My experiences with turbo blankets and heat wrap.

On the ghetto-boosted Impreza, I wrapped the headers, downpipe, and used a turbo blanket for the td04. I even went as far as to wrap the harness loom with gold DEI tape. I wanted to make sure that I didn't start any fires in the engine bay, burn the ps rack, axle's, etc... The result? After...

Currently a student in Maine but I have Maine blood and a Subaru

Cool Forester. There's a few dirt roads that still exist, there's an epic stretch of dirt which runs parallel to the west side of I95 (sparsely populated). It starts in North Berwick and it's called Belle Marsh Rd, and turns to Mill Ln. in York. I don't even know how I found it, because it's...

Flat4awd's 1997 Acadia Green Impreza L "Linda Lovelace"

Thanks brotha, the offset is nearly perfect for my taste; The only drawback is the weight. They're 17" magnesium alloy rally wheels (super strong), but they're like anchors compared to something like a 15" Legacy 5 spoke.

what to put in my wheel wells

On the can it says something like "paint directly over rust", but I don't think that's the only way to use it.  My rockers are still solid, and I cut out whole sections of rust with a grinder, and tacked new metal on.

what to put in my wheel wells

I used POR15 on my green Impreza, it's expensive but it lasts. Just don't get it on your clothes, I had to use fine grit sandpaper to get it off my skin. Nasty Sh!t.
