The TD04 on the 2.5 is not very enjoyable IMO. For a little more he can pick up a VF with some STI injectors and be MUCH happier with a significant boost in power. If he's gonna spend the money on a complete rebuild he might as well.

Ray, you do not want to stay with the TD04 with the 2.5 block. In short, the TD04's exhaust flow capabilities literally choke out the 2.5. Pick up a VF series and you'll be much better off.
