boring old question about the g/f's well used 00 Foz, it's @180k and climbing

once trans shifts into top gear, it seems fine then when car comes to a grade and trans should downshift it hesitates at the shift, or hunts back and forth between gears. when it shifts back up, there's a bit of a lurch, etc

fluid level is good, fluid not dark brown or smelly like burnt sugar, etc. the hesitation or lurching is not real big, just noticeable

OK 4EAT gurus, what's your best Car Talk diagnosis?

could be because something in the valve body is fooey, valve hanging up, actuator/solenoid sleepy or lethagic. Or, a clutch or piston pack in the guts of the beast maybe worn and leaking by or just worn so it can't grab.

We've had lots of success doing the Wynn's Tranny Flush to misbehaving dog-o-matic Scoobies. We run a cleaner thru, then flush about 11 quarts thru using the machine which even gets the crud from the torque converter, and add Wynns condition which revitalizes the clutch discs and piston seals.
