so this all starts with an auto-x. I was at the annex lot event on 5/29, I was half way threw my 7th and final run when the engine really felt down on power and there seemed to be a noticeable tick/knock. after getting off the course I notice there was a little shake coming from the engine, when I opened the hood there was a very distinct thumb thumb coming from the engine (rod bearing). I tried driving it the 8ish miles back to my parents house in westbrook and it hot seized 300 ft from the house. so we flat strapped it up the hill.

this brought up a couple cool options for me. I could rebuild the 2.5 and keep running the car toward open light, or I could do an engine swap gain a bunch of power. I was initial tempted by the idea of an h6 but eventually decided that a 2.0T would be easier.

now since I cant do anything strait forward I have also decided to use mega squirt for engine management instead of mating harness's.

so far I have located an engine from rezpunk that need some love to get running agian. it came with the enigne harness, intake manifold, injectors, exhaust manifold and down pipe.

here is a pic of the damage found when I finally got the engine apart.

luckily the missing piece of valve seems to have gone strait out the exhaust w/o causing any damage. I also found a lot of burned oil in all the cylinder so while the valves are getting fixed im having new guides installed. im also contemplating about going 1mm oversize. also becasue im not 100% sure the valve guides are the culprit for the oil usage im re-ringing.
