i just got the ok from my dealership that if they do the work, they'll gaurentee it and it wont void my warrentee, but heres the problem. i cant find any after market parts for my 08, no im not asking for new suspension or a new motor, just and intake, maybe a full exhaust system the normal mods! can anyone help me with 08 impreza, non turbo, mods

suspension from cobb and perrin, as well as assorted lightweight crank pulleys (a good upgrade).

other than that, the market looks pretty bare so far. . . .

screw the dealer! headers n' full 3" catless exhaust!

Umm, you do know that if you use SPT parts, you won't void your warranty, no matter WHO does the work.

There's a guy on here named "Shorty" that you need to make best buds with - he runs the parts desk at Evergreen Subaru. I'm willing to bet he can get his hands on SPT performance mods for you!

From one N/A guy to another. Let that puppy break in first. They really come into it after 3k or so. Best first Mods for us is ALWAYS Tires, sways, springs, axleback. Just my .02 cents

As far as parts to make it accelerate faster, you're kinda screwed. Nobody has a damn thing for the N/A cars. Ask around, but I haven't found a thing.

Now, to make it go faster, think springs, sway bars and tires.

subaru has already tried every trick in the book to make the 2.5i as powerful and torquey as possible. aftermarket stuff doesn't add much, so there's basically no demand for it so there's no product available. rest assured that watever you do to the N/A motor, it will give minor gains at best and will def suck more fuel.

suspension mods have more room for improvemenmt. however, be very careful that your bolt-ons don't make the car actually handle or ride worse. I've been able to drive all manner of modded subes at Team O'Neil, and the the heavily modded ones almost always handle worse than stock -- admittedly this is on low grip gravel or snow/ice as opposed to road spec, but you get the point. Be well aware that just bolting stuff onto the car does NOT necessarlly make it 'bettAr." suspension setup is a tricky game, check out some of the threads here on STM and you'll see the struggles and lack of results that some have had in this regard.

most cost-effective performance upgrade (after better than OEM tires) is to your driver control software. Ie, before you waste time and $$$ modding the car, mod the driver first.

nigel we need to make you a little picture that says " why you so stupid!?! you dont want spend money on parts! you spend money on drive school!"

that would save you a ton of typing. or just a link to team o you know what ever haha

Rallispec built N/A 2.5 RS motor. Nuff' said.

The blue line is the power curve, the orange line is the monthly payment you'd have to make to your tuner in thousands.

Hehehe.

I never said it took a reasonable amount of money to make such a motor... :laughing1:

It takes a custom built 2.5L turbo block, running as N/A with modified compression (11.5:1) and a few other bits and pieces.

you won't get much more power out of it but you can make it feel a bit zippier... intake, pulley, axelback, short shifter. For more juice, bring your Visa & forget your warranty.

As long as he's not looking for huge gains, I think an n/a model with intake/exhaust and some minor suspension mods is a pretty tasty thing for a DD!

i didnt get the turbo gt impreza because my insurance would rape me, im 1 point away from being SR-22... it was like the other day i had 2 people in the car with me and they weren't that heavy. it felt like the car was trying to haul something when i stepped on it... admittingly i took it off on a road that was being rebuilt and it handles and accelerates a lot better then on payment, but i just would assume there might be a K&N air intake to feed it some more air with maybe 2 2-1 headers and pipes running to the cat, back.

the tires and alloy rims that came with it look like there pretty good, wide. would traction control do anything on pavement to get that extra zip? :confused2:

heh, try downshifting 2 gears.

trac control would do little of what you want, trac control takes a lot of fun out of driving...unless YOU can learn to be the trac control. 08 Impreza has stability control anyway, doesn't it? the subaru stability control is actually pretty good, it will save your bacon when you try something dumb like trying to turn hard and brake hard at same time. get out in a big dirt parking lot, find the "Off" button, experiement with limits of grip and see what happens.

your car is fine, enjoy it as is, be a good boy for a few years and get points off that license. (then get a Leg GT or STI and run em up again) :bom:

the can't find parts thing is mostly how they will keep from voiding the warranty.
