08 wrx vs 09 wrx

Great video for going in a straight line. I Auto-x against both the 08 ans 09 Hatch with my big fat N/A Forester with all season tires and kept it within less than .5 seconds of both of them. To me cornering is a very big thing and more fun than going fast straight. Those hatches are a sweet looking car.

I agree but it is also fun sometimes to roast these idiots off the line.

The 2009 WRX' suspension was also revised to the positive, it wouldn't surprise me if there was a similar gap between the '08 and '09 on an oval track, time attack style.

The reason(s) that Subaru revised the WRX back to a more weekend autoX-oriented platform for 2009 are simple: The newly-introduced Mitsubishi Lancer Ralliart, and the screams of angry WRX buyers who felt the cars went soft, and they got a bit screwed, and (kinda') rightly so.

it is a very straight line or loose surface designed car. to get better cornering on the street you'd definitely need some upgrades. just to be competitive with say an LGT in cornering, I'd probably need at LEAST uprated front and rear sways and links for both.

no one makes a good cupkit setup for the 09's right now. anything you buy will be softer than stock

I did not mean to say that the WRX is not a great car. I guess my point was more that cornering and handling is just as important as straight line speed. the fozzy is not fast but it does handle really good for being so top heavy. Extra 45 lbs for the sun roof /cage. The Fozzy does run the same width as the 04 STI aan that is the Lateral links, 20 mm sway are from. Forester Swift Springs. and Kartboy endlinks. HPS pads. If it was not for the extra room inside with my two boys we would have the WRX 08/09 Hatch in Black.

i'm sure you could have made up that .5 second if you ran the wrx struts with sti springs and tophats.i found that the swift spring were to soft of a ride combined with the stock fozz struts.I love my susp. set-up now and have a similar set-up plan for the 06 but with more hieght

for winter driving

speaking of more height gabe, I know the WRX springs will fit on Fozzys, but do the fozzy springs fit on imprezas?

Well my fozz is not leaning very much in this WOT cone runs. New 08 Struts also helped.

It would look sweeter on an older legacy or a newer (02-05) impreza though. It looks kind of weird on a coupe

Yeah but it's not done yet, He's eventually putting different tires on it, and skid plates, etc. So he can thrash it down the dirt roads and not worry about bottoming out!!

Rear wheel looks alittle off...

that's sick though, tell him to get some rally tires on that mofo.

When you drop JUST the suspension that much, and you don't drop the crossmembers at all, it makes the rear tires follow the natural suspension "droop" So it looks off, but when it is squatted, it will go back up where it's supposed to be

i know you weren't knocking the wrx haha

i feel like it definitely doesn't handle as well as it should on tarmac. too soft and too much roll
