I was told the turbo was about 12" lower from its current 2005-2009 postion, they could be wrong. But the engine mount set up shown is as exactly as they told me.

the 06's and up had equal length headers, but they still had the uppipe and ~3' of header before the exhaust gas got to the turbo. this new setup is a definite closest-track setup. should help with spool a ton. shorter headers=hotter gas=quicker spool=power sooner.

a foot shorter sounds about right, that's about the length of the uppipe. now if it just didnt look like a g35 4dr

Exactly what I was thinking. Then the subaru mindset took over, and I thought...man landing a jump could be costly if that turbo is hanging down there like that.

:p

Now turn that intake manifold around and you've got some seriously short FMIC plumbing.

i'm not an expert by any means, but wouldn't that setup scream for a front mount?
I'm much less expert, and I thought the same thing.

I wonder how much of a PITA it will be to swap that turbo out.

I also wonder about putting that engine/turbo setup in a current legacy... that would be a wonderful setup. The good old non-uglified legacy with a sweet engine

wouldn't be hard at all. just drop the undertray and there it is. Might be easier to do than the current setup.

Yea this thing is just waiting for a FMIC.

hopefully that front crossmember doesn't get in the way of pulling the turbo out. it would appear that ours now are easy to get out, but they're not really.

i wonder if the headers/turbo are able to be swapped over to cars that have the pre-'10 crossmember, like ours. it may need the new engine mounts though....

bet those front engine mounts are going to be "wear items" with that turbo blasting heat on them 24/7

See in those photos, the new legacy isn't as ugly as I thought it looked from the auto show. Gonna have to see it in person I guess.
