2.5 to 2.2 swap automatic flex plate

Chris

YARRR SUBY MONSTER!!
Do I need the 2.2 flex plate when swapping a 2.5 automatic car to a 2.2? Or just swap the 2.5 flex plate over?

Thanks.

Thanks, just starting to look for parts I need.

I knew there was a difference, but couldn't remember if the flex plate had to match the TC or the engine...

I know of know difference between flex plates on the EJ motors. They should all be the same. I have swapped TC's in transmissions before between 2.2's and 2.5's and they were all the same

lol I'm really not sure. EJ flywheels should have the same bolt pattern as well. There is definitely a chance I'm wrong, but I have never heard of them being different, and never personally seen a difference. When you pull the motor, just check it. I know they only bolt on one way, the holes are not evenly spaced, but afaik they are interchangeable!!

The EJ bolt pattern is the same. And it's the EAs that aren't symmetrical, EJs are. That's part of the issue with the EJ swap...
