2 questions. First has anyone else had squeaking and groaning in with saggy butt spacers? Car randomly started groaning in the butt area, and them are the only things I've done different. Second is could my tires be screwed enough to cause the car to feel darty and follow grooves in the road weird? Tires are 205 55 16 continental contiextremecontacts, almost on the wear bars, had been wearing hard on the inside, got an alignment in april and flipped the tires on the wheel. Could it just be the tires themselves or a busted belt maybe? I've pounded those tires through some rough roads, and now I put my geolanders on again the car acts fine

66k. It's only darty with the contis. I'm thinking maybe its how they're worn

Maybe check and make sure they are tight? I dunno. They are plastic, so I wouldn't think they would make any noise.

I didn't have room to put those steel dustcaps back in, but I don't think that'd do anything. I'll borrow a torque wrench from one of the mechanics at work tomorrow. Think they're 14 ft-lbs

Sounds like the darty problem is the way your tires are worn. I had that problem when my summer tires went back on once, the rear tires were older and worn wierd, the tire place did the normal rotation and put them on the front. I could make sweeping turns without turning the wheel. It also handled different. Luckily it doesn't bother me when the good tires are on the front and old ones on the back.

Well I am not up to speed on the saggy butt spacers but from what I gather they could be causing a little bit. Does it only groan going down the road or can you hear it if you push down on the rear of the car?

only when the donkey end is shifting over uneven ground. inski bounced her around a little bit and said it's probably swaybar bushings since the struts werent making a bit of noise. and it only seems to do it when its cold, worse when its colder. so I have an excuse to buy better swaybar bushings all around. anyone know where to get aftermarket sway bushings for stock 2.5i front and stock 02wrx rear?

That sounds like the problem. A sway bar is really an anti-roll bar, put it to use and noises will become apparent if they are there.

I might be looking for the same thing buddy.. so if I find any, or vice versa, let me know. I just posted up in this forum about creaking and groaning noises coming from my suspension too.

Inski and I pretty well narrowed it down do my swaybar bushings. Its only in the rear, and them are the only thing I've messed with since ii got it. ...just realized my bushings are in at evergreen. I'll let you know what happens tomorrow

Going to be putting in new sway bushings tonight. What should I put on them for lube? Ffor some reason I don't think petroleum based grease would ge good for the rubber. Graphite maybe?
