2012 Impreza revealed @ NY Auto Show

guys: read some of the PR-speak in the associated story...it's classic.

"..blah blah Subaru's mastery of utilizing interior space...""

etc etc

have to admit that the new cars are not a hoogly as I thought they might be. interesting to see how new high-torque 2.0 DOHC motor plays out. lighter and more fuel efficient...how are those bad factors??

I like how they have come to make the Impreza front end like the Legacy !

No comment other than two AWFUL color choices to showcase a new model in.
That blue was the only thing I was feeling decent about on either car, and even then it wasnt that good a feeling to make me want one at all.

I kind of dig the headlights but the tails not so much lets see what the wrx and sti change and I was hopeing for a 2dr

Its good to see cars shed weight and gain mileage. We are gonna see $5( at least) gas within year or two (hope not this year). But is a shame at how manufacturersss make all models same under a badge. Look at audi vw, I kinda thought that it was good to have imprezas different than leggy and So on. But it looks ok. Better than a new jetta. Oh and still AWD!

New driveline should make for a good car.

As for the looks. Could be better could be worse. I still think they should use box flairs instead of curvey swoopy flares. The hatch looks decent enough, I saw a pic of another one that had the roof rack rail things which made it look TERRIBLE.

Still impressive engineering if the spec sheets are true. Smaller, lighter, more efficient is impressive these days when each car gets le-fatter.

I tell yah, I certainly wont be buying the hatch of this model, the tail lights went from unique to god awful generic. I really really really don't like it. I think I puked a little in my mouth. Headlights & grill from a legacy, lower front clip from a hyundai, windows from a civic & tail lights from an OLD Kia. Grumble, Grumble.

why all the hate for "legacy headlight design" on this car??

did'ja-all know that the Boxster, Cayman and about a bajillion diffrent 911s share the Exact Same Headlight units??!!

that's not penny-pinching or a lack of imagination, it's a family facial resemblance.

I love the fact it gets 36 MPG but I cant justify buying a new car for 6 more miles to the gallon. JUST BRING THE R1 OVER HERE ALREADY!
