99 forester engine

Hello all,

My daughter decided that the car (99 forester) didn't need oil to run. She was wrong and now I need an engine. It has a fist size hole in the block. Where can one get a decent used engine???

There may be a few in the for sale thread. You can also check nasioc.com. Make sure you find out the milage and if it has had headgaskets done. It would suck if they needed to be done after the engine was in.

Norms usually has stuff, and I'm pretty sure they come with some kind of warranty. Evergreen uses them for used motor sometimes.

99 forester... That would be phase2. Unfortunate because you can't just snap a cheap ej22 for it.

Norm's most definitely has one, but you're gonna pay!! They're well over $1000 for motors

I have a motor in my 98 legacy Gt wagon its the 2.5 w DOHC, make me an offer once you've done some pricing if you want.... The motor is rebuilt and has about 50k on it since I put it in. Always changed the oil.....

99 fozzy is phase2/SOHC. The phase1/DOHC engine will not work.
