99 outback trans + install?

got a friend with an outback wagon that is in need of a trans, another shop told him he needed the front diff and quoted something like 4g to do the work which isn't an option...obviously a simple trans swap is cheaper. installed would be ideal for him....paging meyagi

She's an auto. Tyler is quoting him 900 for the diff. Something like 3-4 g installed. I figured you could do better.

does the auto trans work ok? ive got a 99 auto trans sitting here with a good diff and bad forward clutch. idk how much hassle it would be to just put my diff in.

It's making a whining/ grinding noise apparently. I havnt looked at it yet. If you want I'll give him you're number and you can set an appt up for him.?
