A little more on your State Inspection.

Really thought it all depends on the shop and I go to the same shop every time. Tried Trusted and True.

They do exhist. And most of the time it only costs me $18.50.

 
Blows my mind. They should spend more money educating drivers instead of fixing cars if they really worry about safety.

that's the key!! Everyone needs to find their own personal mechanic and shop they like to deal with and stick with them. You will like your mechanic and your mechanic will like you. To hell with the State!

No I don't mean to be all mushy. It is quite important to me, that I don't get BS'ed when I am in for inspection/service. And I know you will give me a heads up if I will need something soon, but won't rake me over the coals and hold my inspection ransom for it.

a local shop did that with my 4runner, so I printed the page in the inspection booklet, highlighted it, printed defenitions of words material property specs. Brought that all back, and the guy was astonished, then mad, then embarassed, then gave me my inspection sticker. He honestly didn't know, didn't think it was safe, and was afraid to lose his liscence. [and this was all over a rusty fender that I cut out, and filled with kitty hair. he insisted that I rivet steel back in, then kity hair. ]
