So i thought i'd just put this out there - i wish subaru would build a certain car, so i figured i'd rant a little about the car i want them to make. Also, i figure some of you might have some ideas of your own.....

remember those boxy subarus from the early 90's that had like a foot of ground clearance and a 4wd button on the stick shift? Those things are awesome. My uncle who used to race subarus used to scare the hell out of us in one of those things. Look at the bottom of the car from the rear wheel to the rear bumper. Looks like a rally car. Cut off the bottom of the front bumper and it was a 4 wheeler.

make an updated one of those, subaru. these cars you're putting out now are kinda lame. build be something that's front wheel drive with pushbutton awd. mmm? save a lot of gas that way... oh and offer it in diesel. i'm also looking for a lot of ground clearance. never underestimate the value of the fringe crowd - they're who made you famous. some of us live in places where the dirt is the only way to go. and hey, the posers alone would make it worthwhile to you in car sales.

it's like mountain bikes - who really benefits from full suspension? especially some non-working wal-mart crap? next to no-one. But... everyone has it. Why? same reason soccer moms drive suv s. Flashy as ****.

So yes subaru - design for me a boxy car - round it off a little if you want to - that resembles a modern version of the early 90's legacy wagon. Put some hellacious springs in it. I just got an OBS, and already i must get longer springs? in an Outback? what? ... but sorry, i digress - put huge long travel springs in it - maybe even some pneumatic struts in there so that i can slam it down on the street when i'm on the interstate and jack it up when i get where i'm going, my hat on, jacket off....

And make it big enough i can sleep in the back.

Did boxer3main have a kid?
Hahaha yes. I was going to post something similar about a certain engine he might want in there also, but I didn't have a chance and you beat me to it

I really can't believe that you all bag on boxer3main so much......I mean granted his posts don't make a lot of sense.......but you could keep it to yourself.

Not making a lot of sense is fine, I can't say all my posts are completely coherent. But the sheer volume of mis-information is what gets on my nerves.

ahhh! but how is one to learn without making mistakes?...not trying to internet argue....or would it be interargue...

There's more to it than that. But I'm not going to post more in this thread. If you want to talk more about it, PM me.

Did I miss a time warp or did you post this before the forrester came out?

I'm thinking more like the battlewagon. a smaller car that can go almost anywhere. the forester's more along the lines of an suv. what i'm thinking of is more dirt friendly sportscar.

Unfortunately there are very few older Subarus left in this area. I have had more than I can count. I had 2, but recently sold one, and now I just have my Brat. There are many out west that haven't rusted away to nothing. And the best ones had dual range 4wd, not the push button ones. But they all took a beating, and just kept going!!

Fortunately I bought it, so it's still in the MS family
