The stock IC shroud from the splitter doesn't utilize to larger tmic size, it made marks where it rested. Probably 15% if the intercooler was outside the marks.
Decided to try out a bike inner tube to create a larger IC shroud. It looks good so far, I have doubts it will stand up to time and heat but I have less than 6 dollars invested.
This is an 04 sti so it has the sti splitter and its with a perrin TMIC with approximate dimensions of 20" x 8". I used the inner tube from a 20" tirehttp://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1899239#
, picked up at wal-mart for $4.50. Just zip tied it to the splitter, drilled some new holes to tie it down to. The most area to be gained is the back part closest to the windshield, you can see the old holes there. It seems to be pretty well sealed all around.
