My apartment has a steam boiler and single pipe to the radiators. There are little auto bleed valves on the radiators that you can set to be anywhere between fully open & closed.
1) Where do I set the bleed valve? I would think open but wouldn't it suck air back in?
2) Is there a way to stop the pipes from banging? Sometimes I think the pipes are gonna come up thru the floor
3) Is it better to set teh temp and forget it or raise & lower it when were home/not home, etc?
I've had forced air heat, hot water heat, but never steam. This is a whole different ballgame. One pipe... wtf?!
