I have recently had the pleasure of going to Chris' scenic Lake Winnipesaukee home to have some work done on my new headlights. The lights were brand new, in the box OEM CDM HIDs for my '08 Foz Sports. I had wanted an HID retrofit kit, but when these came along it just made better sense to me. However, they needed work in my opinion. I wanted them to blacked out similar to my Sports' stockers, and also wanted to do LEDs in the eyebrows as well as remove the amber corners while I was in there.
I always like to do my own work, but also wanted to get it right the first time around, especially having just dropped coin on the new housings. So, I contacted Apkarian via PM right here on the site, and I got response within the day. I told him what I wanted to accomplish, and we set up a time for me to go to his shop and get at it.
I made a small deposit to cover ordering my supplies, and communication was smooth for the most part (PM's not the most efficient). Days later I was bombing down the fun back roads of NH en route to getting my custom work done. Anticipation for the goodness to come!
The process was efficient, and the results speak for themselves. I was able to get my hands-on in the project, which was great to still have had been part of the work done on my ride. Won't find a relaxed shop like that most places. We even had time to grab lunch, and to collaborate on a set of LED plate lights with my leftovers. Bonus! More than happy to have paid for the help.
Here are my old lights for comparison, front pass and side drives
My new lights fresh outta the oven haha! Testing the LEDS.
Taking the bumper part way off to take out the old HL's. Off/On shots of the Foz's face.
The pics don't really speak for themselves. They look great up close, do not have any moisture issues, and the LEDs are bright enough to drive by. If you are thinking about doing headlight work and need a hand, contact Apkarian. Affordable, quick.... and a subie guy too! Thanks Chris.
