edit title: I meant AWS (american welding society) and not ASE

anybody ever pay for this? it is an ASE cert for welding..

I checked on prerequisites, and well, I have gone so far beyond the requirement it seems silly.

I think of this every year come time to inspect an old subaru welded more than a broken framed truck..

I have to count on the inspector knowing welds, which is good.. but you may know what I am saying.

I know someone that went to get there cert and said its harder than it sounds. You are in the mercy of the instructor pretty much.

If you know your stuff and think you got what it takes go for it man. Just make sure you can weld in several settings.

You ever mess with Ti? That is some crazy stuff to weld. You have to do it in a near oxygen less envirenment.

I did find it at AWS website..

edit title to be aws and not ase

they concentrate on gas certs with weld, as I only want the sheet metal one. I was checking in on this. All one does is follow the instructions... then pay them to tell you, that what you did was good enough.

so.. it is to say, the non-gas fluxxers are really open to anybody. I'll just keep going about what I do. I do not like gas.. that is for show and tell and breakin to hell.

would be a good career with the way stuff has evolved. or even part time, there seems to be no business anymore.

I did notice unibodies go straight to junk with a big fairy tale of how horrifying the rust was... that is a business all its own. maybe worth a license there.
