That's cool. I really like how you can see the power to weight ratio of the cars right there too. Like at the Serres Racing Ciruit, you can see that an '00 wrx (jdm right?) put down a time of 1:39.15 with a P/W of 224/1490 while the Cooper and the Mazda 6 are only .1 second faster with P/W's of 174/1206 and 260/1616 respectivaly. Really gives a sense of scale.
One of the things with Top Gear track times is that they never drive (and should never drive) anything other than the top of the line model of a particular car on their track.
For example, when they test the STI it is always up against the EVO and we never get to see what kind of times a stock WRX or regular impreza would do and how they all stack up against each other. On the other hand, if they did this kind of testing, it would kinda dilute the show. Its only about the best of the best, not every car and every model.
