Aww, kids are so cute

The effects that broken homes and lack of a male role model have on young children is terrifying. I volunteered in an elementary school for a month. The world is a scary place.

 
^^^ I agree totally. I've been working with elementary aged children since '93, and I've noticed a change in family structure and stability just in the past 10 years. There are many more parents raising kids these days in environments that are non-conducive to healthy development. Many of these kids don't have a stable male figure in their lives. The moms often have unhealthy on again off again relationships with several men. I blame a lot of it on a lack of education. When I have parent conferences at school, it becomes blatantly obvious why some of my students are struggling. The parents are functioning on a maturity and intelligence level equal to that of their 5th or 6th grader. Until there is an IQ/common sense test required in order to breed, things will continue to get worse.

This. The state of affairs is pretty terrible. I was only helping in the school for a month four years ago. I can't imagine what nearly 17 years has shown you.

sad what the world is coming too. I also worked in a middle school about 4 years ago and everything Dan and nhmtns said is very true, hard to believe those are our futures leaders. AND I WAS AT A CATHOLIC SCHOOL!
