If you get some headlight sealer and just remove most of the old stuff you wont have to worry about it... I have one light tho that just wont stop leaking no matter what I do...Thanks for the insight, from the little bit of research I have done....a lot of ppl complain about opening up the headlights and having leakage problems. I deff. want to do the taillights and see how they come out then decide on the headlights. Mark- post something here in the next couple days and let me know how they came out!
unless you have a cracked ballast and it wont seal no matter what!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I hate my headlights!also pats right, you should never have leaking issues. i dont even remove all the old silicone, i just put a new bead down on top of it and call it a day.
Well I figured that tint/smoking would be the way to go with the tails, so no your not retarded! I still want to find out how yours come out!christ i'm retarded. i thought you meant tint/smoking.
for blacking out follow the oven instructions. i've done several sets of headlights. tails generally don't work the same, you need to dremel them out and replace the lenses. thus the smoking for them
Dont use matte bud, you want flat. ive had the best luck with the 98 cent can at wally world, for some reason the spray flow is really good for this, you get more control of the darkness of it.tails are one thing. if you want to tackle it yourself from what i've been hearing from people (fyi i'll be doing this tomorrow so i've been paying close attn lately) it's just a layer of matte black spray paint, clearcoat, wetsanding, then buffing.
