Can someone briefly telling me how to black them out. I know they go into the oven and how to take them off...

BUT

How do i get them back together?? Thank you!

Also how long?

Take headlights out

Put in oven at like 250 for maybe 15 minutes

Pull apart carefully so as to not get the stingy rubber all up in your lights

Take out amber pieces

Paint if you want

Use some extra silicone sealer if you feel they won't go back together (I used it in case)

Let dry. Put back in car. done.!!

On mine and Nates we did 200 degrees, 15-17 minutes. On the 08/09 you can remove the reflector or paint it.

Also blacking out can be refered to as actually painting the silver housing black (not the silver reflector for the lights)

Ahh ok perfect, will attempt monday!! So I really don't need any parts, just paint and my good old .... brain? =)

Thanks guys

Tail lamps are nothing like the head lamps!! There is no black goo that allows easy separation. The lens is stuck to the back with super glue or melted to it. I literally had to break the lens from the backing. Yes, I have a couple minor cracks in the lens down low. Hopefully it not very noticeable. Goo will be needed to reseal/assemble these bad larrys.

Black gloss laid down on first lamp. I have to cook diner now, my wife is headed out to work, grave yard shift. Other tail lamp later and assembly of first lamp. Hopefully pics will follow....

Dremel and a cut off wheel.

That crossed my mind, and a BFH. Extra time in the oven made separation of the lens easier to snap free. Literally have to break it out of its little heat weld they did to put it together.

The second lamp I had in the oven 1/2 hour and used 2 screw drivers to pry it free. Not really a prying technique, more of getting the blades in the gap and twisting, working the open break around until its all snaps free before it cools off.

Second lens a lot better, cleaner, break. I'm done except for letting the sealant dry.
