bugeye transmission

i have a 2002 wrx. we removed the transmission to replace the clutch. everything went smooth until we put the transmission back in. the shift linkage will not move at all. it seems like the synchros are jammed up or something. how hard is it to get into the tranny and free this up? would you recommend to just bring it to the transmission shop or is it really not bad working on wrx transmissions? any info would help. oh yeah what are the torque specs for 1)flywheel to crank, 2)pressure plate to flywheel, and 3)the bolts on the housing of the transmission. thanks everyone

sounds like you may have a 'parts assembly' issue

make double triple sure you have all clutch parts back in, back together in order, with throwout bearing in proper position (easy to put this in backward, clutch works once and then clonk no clutch) BTDT

does clutch pedal feel like it's working or is clutch feeling dead

don't know how you disassembled shift linkage, it's pretty simple. make sure ALL parts are back together properly and tightened. if you left part of linkage off or not bolted back up, it'll make trans feel like it's jammed..

seems unlikely you screwed up trans internally, go back over every single part before you crack the trans and monkey with the innards!
