Can You Buy and Install USED PhotoShop?

I was wondering if you could use PhotoShop disks that have been used on someone else's computer, or is it mated with it with KeyCodes or something?

I'd love to customize my blog some more, but I'm not liking the premade templates by others, I want to make my own headers, signatures, graphics, etc. I also saw women using it to add items into pictures that weren't originally there, I'm guessing there's endless possibilities as to what this program can do for you.

So, if it is possible to buy PhotoShop USED, If there's anyone out there selling it, I'd love to buy it [or own/borrow it for next to nothing]. You may contact me under here or message Gabe.

Thank you so much!

I worked at an electronics store for 3 years and this is what they told us: You can install it as long as you obtain a valid key from Adobe that will allow you to activate the software. This would be no different as your computer died, I got an new one and now need a key to install my previous copy.

I have never done this as I don't own photoshop. I am sure other great folks here on MS know more. Calling Adobe should give you the information that you need and they may charge you for the key, I am not sure.

There are some other great FREE programs that are available that do the same things:

GIMP

Paint.net

GIMP is awful. People are going to roll in here and say it isn't, but they are flat out wrong. It is a usability nightmare.

Paint.net is a perfectly fine alternative.

I'm pretty sure you can activate used keys as long as no one else is using said key, not sure as I always deal with Business licenses for mass distribution.

thepiratebay.com and uttorent will do you just fine

You're gonna get Carter and Nate in trouble, now the forums are going to show up in searched for bad things!

Input on free programs: Paint.net is alright, but its heavy on the computer resources for what it is. Gimp is definitely a usability nightmare as Dan said, so if you're not willing to look through each menu and window in order to familiarize yourself with it, don't bother.

thanks everyone. I think I'm going to go the Photoshop route. I'm betting it's a little more user friendly for my beginner self. I have a really DUMB friend that uses it, and if she can navigate through it, I'm sure I can.

lmk if you need any HELP learning it/installing it... I might be able to help you get a really really good deal on it. Also what version are you looking for?

cs4 is the newest, cs5 should be out in the spring. i didnt notice a huge difference with the cs3 to cs4 though, just a couple new tools and better (quicker) graphics performance. it can do some crazy 3d/video stuff, but most people dont use it and just use illustrator or premier/final cut. the difference between photoshop 7 and CS is the big one.

i would suggest getting photoshop elements, especially the newest one. photoshops' claim to fame is to use layers, and the latest one also has layer ability. i think its $100 new.

I prefer CS2. I don't know why. I'm just used to the location of things in menus and stuff in CS2 and they changed it a little bit in CS3.

I use 7.0.1. Which must be much better than 7.0. So I'm happy with it

In all seriousness though, I have done a lot with 7. It's easy to use and works great. And I got my copy for $3 at a yard sale.

I agree with you Nate, I have used CS2, and looked at CS3 and I like CS2 better. Its all a matter of preference and usability
