Clogged cat?

Heres the deal: occasionally my car reeks of eggs/sulfer. I first noticed awhile after I bought it and originally thought (since it seemed to only smell when I REALLY gave her some shoe) that it was carbon buildup on my intake valves getting burnt off. Got talking to my buddy about it and it seemed reasonable because from what I can figure, it was some gramma that owned it before me. Old ladys really dont open the taps when they drive, leading me to beleive my theory true.

But...

My car isn't carbuerated (obviously) and you really only have to "clean out the carbon" as old guys call it on carbuerated motors because you hardly get buildup on your valves with a feul injected setup. ( not sure the exact details, I read up on the subject in the click and clack article of the wheels section in the paper

)

And..

By now, id like to think it would of all been burnt off.

All of this leads me to beleive I have a clogged cat. Not sure how to check? Has anyone else had an issue like this? Or could it be my cabin air filter? Because sometimes it stinks when im cruising between 2 and 3k, not really high enough rpms to be cleansing any carbon from my motor I wouldent think

1: Stop reading click and clack.

2: Pretty much every stock toyota since the 90's smells like that wehn going up a hill. note your relative position to a toyota product the next time you smell it.

3: Funky stuff grows in the cabin filter.

My forester smelled like sulfur, turns out the alternator was overcharging and burning off the sulfiric acid in the battery. Advance and vip do free charging system tests
