cold air intake for my 2.2

Anything that works for an RS without MAF will work for yours.

I think the 98 is MAF and the 2000 is MAP, so it may be slightly different. But it sounds like he has his 98 intake as well

i think i can just use my MAF and his air box/piping anyway right?

we need to hook up though too and swap exhausts. i'll be away for the next week but sometime after that?

Yeah you should be able to use some of it and make it work.
