Common service items?

My ForesterXT has about 115,000 miles. Other than brakes, oil, air filter i was just curious on what would be some good items to have looked at or replaced? I have had no previous service visits. The only things i can think of are:

Spark plugs + Wires

Serpentine belt

Battery

Radiator fliud

It doesn't have a serpentine belt, but the timing belt, water pump, and front crank seal should probably be changed. Coolant will be changed with that, plugs and wires aren't a bad idea, and if the battery is still working good, I wouldn't worry about that.

wow, if you have never replaced the timing belt consider yourself lucky you have made it this far with no problems. That is a must

I would go off of what Bratman18 said.

I will add a few things

1) tranny flush if its a automatic or just change the fluid if its manual

2) Diff fluid change also.

diablo beat me to the fluids. those are important.

i might look into a pcv valve as well as your cabin air filter if you have one.

+1

My own 2 cents is... it does not matter the year for rear diff.

I took an 87 to 22 years and changed fluids by miles only.. there is no air to kill it. Just the normal physics of miles. All else needs attention thinking of time, as well as miles.

The timing belt is a big surprise, especially on unmodified top ends of oem subaru with EGR. That is either a gentle firing engine, or it really is outstanding. Maine is good to these anyway, cool ground.

I took an ea82 with a moster egr to 7 years before it finally gave in. The demise of a timing belt is interesting...as they shrink to heat, the ending is a snapper, more than a teeth shredder.

Glad to see someone keeping after maintenance.

EDIT: almost forgot the point of reply... repack the bearings with synthetic. That also, as oe, is not impressive. The older subes are strangely championed there...the newer ones are playing "smart" with less bearing.
