Contacts

On Saturday went to CT to get some of my girl's stuff, planned to make the trip down and back in a day, but we got running around visiting friends and what not. So I needed to take my contacts out cause they were dry. Asked friend if they had any solution, sure enough her roommate had some, so I took them out. Sunday morning, went to put contacts in. And BURN.. WTF is that in my eye. It hurt so damn bad, and I was trying to get the contact out. What a grandma. I could nto figure out what happened. So I tried and tried to get them in, but couldn't. So we went to breakfast, I was miserable, stopped at CVS to get regular sulution. Come to find out, it was a cleaning solution for contacts, and you are supposed to clean them after, well I didn't. Eyes are still burning a little. Ended up finally getting my contacts in around 2:30, but they were a little uncomforatbale..

Cliff notes: used cleaning solution for contacts, hurts like hell.....

Yeah, dude. That was basically straight up hydrogen peroxide (iirc). If you ever go to use contact solution and notice that the tip where the fluid comes out (heh) is RED, do not proceed. Red tip = eye burns.

You're lucky you got 'em out quick!

I once wore the same pair of contacts for 3 days in a row. It sucked.
:laughing4:

I once wore the same pair for 6mos straight. goat.

Lost my glasses, was on my last pair of contacts, and was to busy and poor to go to the eye doctor. Finally sucked it up and made an appointment, and found my glasses 2 days prior. Dr. could tell I'd had them in way too long, and asked me if I was stupid. Still go 3-4 weeks straight though, and it aint no big.

Dont look if yer squeemish!

ok. how about this.

remember last year all the stuff on tv about recalled contact solution? stuff about blindness and bacterial conjunctivitis or something like that?

well. i was flying down to tampa for a few days, and couldn't bring my solution with me, so, i bought some at the airport, in one of those stores POST security, you know, so they can take your raisin away and charge you 10x more for the same stuff 20ft later?

well i bought a bottle, and long story short, this happened.. . .(pics below. )

optometrist told me it was the stuff that was recalled. . . ..thanks airport.

took antibiotics and steriod eyedrops to fix it. . ..i cant tell you how much it hurt. just know i cried constantly. . ..it was involuntary

insurance covered everything. i didnt go after anyone cause i dont have the time or money to. . . ....steriod eyedrops (altrex) kicked ass in 48 hours.

eh, I am glad I never ran into that, I always use Alcon RepleniSH. No cleaning, no rubbing either. I also have 30 day lenses. Some only last a day if they have a defect.

since that whole contact incident, i have switched to the H2O2 solution and am very impressed. as long as you give it it's 6 hours, the lenses come out perfect every time.

what a pain in the ass contacts are lol. . ..can we get a group buy on lasek? PLZ???
