Creaking Sounds in Suspension

I just bought the car used back in April from a dealership, and now I'm already noticing creaking noises in what sounds to me like the front suspension. Sometimes when I literally open the door and sit down in the seat, it creaks and groans. Then, when I'm at low speeds, (mostly turning the wheel hard to the left or right) it makes the same noises. It's not so much going over bumps and stuff... any ideas as to what I should be looking at? Grease fittings? Bushings? etc... Any help would be appreciated. I plan on keeping this car for a long time, and want to treat it right.

subaru steering twists front strut assemblies as steering moves thru its range. they will often squeak or groan a bit when springs, struts and strut tops move with/against each other. you can minimize this with a lil silicone spray into area where top of spring sits in top spring mount.

strut mounts may be pooched, there is a spherical bearing in there that moves as strut twists in steering, if this is gone if may make noise....tho pooched top mounts usualy are ID'ed by clunking as strut moves up/down over low speed bumps.

While I realize your creaking is in the front and mine is in the rear, lube solved my issues. Crawled under it to pb blast the swaybar mount bolts, and said frig it and pb'd the bushings too. No creaks this morning. Grab some silicne spray and try just swaybar bushings first, thee the springs and such

I think I am going to give that a shot. That is obviously the cheapest "fix". If it still creaks after that, I'll have to look into replacement parts.

I ended up having the shop take a look at this noise when I had my oil changed, and they said it was the front struts. However, they said this is "normal". I don't think it is, unless you guys tell me otherwise that Subaru's are prone to this. They said the struts didn't need to be replaced unless the noise was bothering me that much. I haven't tried PB blasting them yet though.

Miles on the car? We need to get that pig in my garage and up in the air and check her out. I bet it is just dry rubber parts creaking. We can lube that thing up and go from there.

no hurry. I'm finishing building an oak dresser for the wife. she been waiting 13 year for me to make it. She is a good women. Anytime the second half of August.

Mt car has only 46,600miles on it. They just about twins.

Wow, that is beautiful! I just built a workbench out of birch. I'll have to show you pics sometime. I'm just getting into woodworking, but so far it is a lot of fun!

Jack stands, ramps and jack. Does it look like I have room for a lift.

The floor is very clean (no oil or grease) and smooth. Well other than the inch deep oak sawdust.

Excellent job! Yes, we have to get together soon. Are Monday evenings ok for you? I know you said your weekends are actually Sun/Mon.
