Cyl 2 Misfire.....need input!

so the wagon developed a misfire in cylinder 2 yesterday, CEL was flashing like mad.

checked the codes and it gave the cyl 2 misfire code.

swapped plugs, cleared codes and even swapped coils front to back on that side. hoping to find it was causing misfire in #4 after that. no luck.

the motor has 248k on it and im thinking it may have given up the ghost....

i pulled the dip stick and smelled the oil...gas is mixed in.. when i pulled the plug it was also covered in gas.

anyone have other ideas on what to check from here? I dont have a compression tester.

a while ago i was getting some blow by, i opened the oil filler and could feel the air puffing out the tube. think cyl 2 has finally let go...

thoughts?

hrm....I smell a full compression/leakdown test in ur immediate future. all else is just idle conjecture.

 
yeah i know, have to find someone with all the tools to do that...

sounds like exactly what happened to mine....i did the oil filler cap test and saw smoke and smelt fuel when i took it off.

but mine was cylinder 4.

If you can wait till sunday i can bring my compression gauge to mobil on the run when we all meet up. or if you need it sooner just call me
