well.... I've figured out that I have a Lien on my title... and its kind of a wierd situation. I bought it from a kid who got it from his grandfather and now his grandfather no longer lives in the country......what should I do?

well I guess I could always find another justy and use the "lien car" as a parts car.

Yea I was talking to my boss. He was saying that even though there is a cut off they still may overlook it because of the lien..... but that im not sure of I guess I should just contact the DMV.

well the issue date on the title is 94 so I will give it a try.
I think he was referring to the issue date of the title... not the year of the car.

if it's a 92 you don't need a title. it's nice to have. but not required. so as i read that. a 13 year old lein doesn't have any sway on the car anymore. are you trying to sell it? that's really the only reason that you'd run into a problemt. you don't need a tittle to register it.

Do you have a title at all? If you have a title. does it have a lien on it? If so, write a release of lien yourself. Unless the guy comes after you, he'll never know. The DMV won't know. Problem solved. As long as you own the car, the release is a technicality.

if the release of lien needs to be from a bank and you write it yourself, you may need to obtain the services of lawdawg. DMV shouldn't accept anything less than an authentic release of lien from the lienholder.

k
I was thinking the same thing.
