What do you guys think of dish network? I just moved and the local cable company sucks so I signed up for dish. It was super cheap so its kinda making me nervous.

 
I've only heard good things about Dish Network... they've got a million HD channels which is a plus. I'm sure it's better then DirecTV, which absolutely sucked when we had it...

Be sure to get the DVR, it makes it all worth it. Especially if you are normal and have too much of a life to be home when your favorite programs are on.

 
I'd be interested in any info as well. It's like $9.95 here and if you want BASIC REGULAR TV channels then it's $14.95 a month (which is weird).

My neighbors have DirecTV and their guy had to come out and move their dish somewhere else because they kept losing signals.

That's my only concern. I'd be ticked if I kept losing a signal around here, cause all it takes is someone to breathe the wrong way and our power goes out [typical for Maine regardless].

My basic basic cable is $9.08 a month for channels 2-22.

I'd think about doing Dish Network if I knew we'd watch more tv, but there'd have to be compromises= more outdoor activities.

 
Yeah I had to have my dish relocated as well, a tree was causing issues. But now I get great signal and never get any problems

i would go nuts with only 20 channels half of those are stations no one has heard of

 
i have direct with hd. love it no complaints. they give me free premiums all the time randomly cause i have been customer for 7 years. wouldnt go anywhere else.

 
before you cancel your cable, find out if you have line of sight first. If you don't theres this other company called eastern arc or something that provides dish network services, but uses a satellite located at a higher angle than dish and dtv sats.

 
We only lose our signal about 2 or 3 times a year durring heavy rain. Other than that we have no complaints. We have dish HD in one room and DVR in 2 others.

 
when they first introduced Maine to Verizon DSL they had 2 promotions, $14.95 a month or $19.95 for even faster DSL.

I chose the $14.95 AND it is super fast.

Are you sure you're not telling me the WHOLE price of your phone bill?

No I only have DSL. I had verizon first, and now fairpoint. that's a great deal!! I used to pay more, but downgraded to a cheaper price, and I notice no difference. Mines very fast too!! But I like your price better!!

 
Our Verizon DSL is $14.95 a month (which is now Fairpoint).

Yeah that's what I hear. I have had NO problems with them at all. I have heard of a lot of people having issues with them, but they've been great for me
