Downpipe install

I just ordered an Invidia Catless Downpipe and had it shipped to my place in Maine because I will be back up there in about a week. I don't want to tackle the install myself, but don't have any places that I feel comfortable with in Maine to do the install. Anybody know a good Subaru shop/Subaru gear head who could do the install? I'm up at UMaine Orono, but don't mind a drive for someone who does good work.

In case anyone is wondering what my plans are after the downpie install, I'm going to have a custom tune made for the car and call it good on power for a bit.

You will have the map ready to be flashed on right after the install??

You wont wanna be driving much on the car after the pipes installed, and definitely NO boost.

The best would be to have a stage 2 map ready, so once you have the pipe installed you can tune ASAP.

And order some new gaskets from grimmspeed or where ever to make sure of no leaks.

Hey if you can find a place to do it I will help you. I did mine myself. Pretty stright forward. Only five nuts/bolts holding the bellmouth on and then the two on the lower downpipe. The heat shield is the biggest pain to deal with.

you can help him in my garage

Well the map isn't ready, it needs to be custom tuned to my specific vehicle. I will have a "base" map given to me by my tuner, from there we will fine tune it based on data logs. I do plan on ordering new gaskets too.

I don't mind taking the drive down to southern Maine for some help. Would you guys (diabloadist/lobstah) be willing to help out?

Yup man we can make a garage day out of it. Lobstah is going to be help me Ahem hopefully this weekend. I am doing a compression test on my car.

I was thinking this Saturday.

Do you need to pull the intercooler off the STI to do the downpipe like you do on the Legacy?

I wouldn't be able to do it quite this soon. I need to order some new gaskets before I can do the install. I also want to make sure the guy doing my tune will be available to do it (and that I have the cash to do it).

Yea you have to pull the TMIC it makes it much easier to do. To bad we couldn't do your car this weekend. i am a free man. Wife is gone down to DC for her sisters baby shower she is throwing. I am still doing my Compression check this weekend still. Hopefully Lobstah is still up to it. I will call him tomorrow.
