So I bought my 2009 wrx with 43000 miles on it (highway mostly I believe) and it runs great. I used to own a troublesome stock 05, so this new car is like OHH MAN when I mash the throttle. I however have gotten somewhat of a power bug and I cant shake it. Anyhow I was looking into the accessport because of reliabiility, support, etc. That being said I am not ready for a dp, cb, intake, u/p, intercooler, pump etc because I plan on doing some driver mods before all that extra juice. Id like to do an intercooler and some other safety things before I go too far because this is also my DD. Is it worth grabbing an accessport now? I can purchase maps for it if I get other parts (Porbably get above at same time, year or so later). I wouldnt mind a few extra ponies and better powerband without people knowing right now (exhaust, eye catching rims, etc) and thought this would be a good solution. Thoughts on the stage 1 map for my subie? yay or nay? I bet you're all tired of answering q's about these type of things over and over but I need solid real world advice from people I trust. If not, what would you recomend doing first?

good plan, make the most of the loose nut behind the wheel before dumping cubic cash into motor mods that'll probly just shorten the car's useful life. that 09 has way more oomph than can be sanely employed on public roads anyway.

so if you wanna go faster don't grab an Accessport, grab a lower gear!

Rims and tires for sure, probably after this winter. Im gonna peek at what others are runnin on the 08+ hatch's instead of ask everyone lol. Im also thinkin that horrible head unit/speakers combo needs to go. that's another topic for a different thread though.

Its not so much the power though as I heard the stage 1 maps on the cobb unit are better than stock. Stock is pretty rich right?

Good idea starting with the better intercooler. I have read that the newer subies run a little hot with the equipment they are running. I would like to definitley go with a high volume radiator and a bigger badder intercooler (frontside); Before I would even get into expensive engine mods.
