2005, 4matic. Dad got one last week. Damn, that car moves. Got to take it our yesterday, Dad handed me the keys and said "Take it for a ride, but be careful, she is quick and powerful"

Car is smooth, fast and comfortable. Handles well too... He got out of a E320 (1997)

what's not to like?

500E was T H E quintessential stealth autobahn bomber, just as fast but much less gauche than later AMG hot-rods

True, but his dad has a newer 2005 model.

Still, a really nice car.

the Mercedes/Porsche built 500E/E500s were like 1990-94 only, guess I missed the age of his dad's new Benz.

there's a real 500E that lives locally here in Camden, it's a total sleeper...until you hear it start up and sound like a Vette that is. :angel12: only the front fener flares give it away otherwise.

There is one that I see on my commute in the wells-eliot area.. driven by a lady with a sense of humor. (gave her the thumbs up one day and she dropped the hammer with a smile)
