EGR delete?

so how do i go about this the easy way? my 97 LGT 2.5 drinks oil and blows smoke when i hammer on it, and gets horrible mileage. i plan on doing a full rebuild when i get the loot. but this might save me some oil and gas mileage? till then?

Intake end:

Some of the 2.2Ls have an EGR block plate, find one of those or make your own.

Head end:

Put a plug in the head. Done.

made a plate and completed my delete tonight now to see if it improved mileage....
