I agree. I've gotten a few from the junk yards I've sent back or had to toss in the scrap pile because they weren't any good for $700-$1400. I'd say Mike's engine is a safe bet. He's got well over a few hundred in labor alone, not counting head gasket parts and timing belt prices. The dealer charges $1650 for head gaskets these days. An engine that's already had all that done for half the price = bargain.i encourage you to find me a good running sohc 2.5 with headgaskets and timing belt done for less then the $800 i told you. junkyards get 1500 for them and who knows what maint has been done.
