Hey all,

I got to thinking and am contemplating on going this route, but not quite sure how I should go about it. Suggestions from people with experience on this topic would be appreciated.

If I go this route, I definitely want a built bottom end. Forged pistons, rods and crank with arp studs. My dilemma, should I get the Rallispec built shortblock for $3500, or should I purchase the pistons, rods and crank seperately? I feel like the cost will most likely be the same, and if for some reason the rallispec block pooches, at least I will have another shortblock on hand....

More times than not, you most likely need to machine the cylinders for the latter, which means a longer time that I will be without my vehicle.

What are your thoughts?

Power goals?

It's hard to beat the Rallispec blocks. If I had to do it all over again I would probably go down that route instead.

I was looking at a sleeved 2.7L stroker kit and seeing if I can find a used ej255, have it machined to put the sleeves in and do it that way.

But how do I search for used short blocks? I've been searching google, and haven't' really had much luck. Anyone know of good places to look? NASIOC maybe?
