1967 Datsun RL411 SSS dual SU carbs 1.6 "R" engine, similar to an MG,also found in the Datsun sports 311 roadster

Someone wanted to see some of my Datsuns, off topic seems like the place. The 411 is in my shop now...3" suspension drop,SSR mesh wheels, stainless exhaust, then finish body and paint this spring...should be ready to play again

One of the 510s,getting gutted for cage..

This one will be fun when completed.Plans call for a blacktop SR swap.I just sold one in my S13,this time I want to build the motor from scratch,so I know what I have.

Wifes 73 2dr...on "simmer" waiting for mine to be done,to see how she likes driving it...hey I convinced her to get a WRX wagon!

are you caging the 510 for rally or road race or what? there are several 510s actively rallying with NASA and/or Rally America now. the fastest one currently running has door number..........(wait for it)....

510, of course.

cool 411, had never heard of that one before.

Holy cow Batman! What an awesome collection. What's not to like with a garage full of Subies and Datsuns?

I had to edit this...pork chops were done while I was posting before.....

The grey 510 is registered with BRE as a tribute car. It will be a clone of the #46 Morton car. The shame is that my only plans for it are as a street terror/cruise in car. I would love to auto-x with it,but until I have some practice with the car, even road cone damage scares me. the old FG parts are hard to come by,esp with the amount of time and work Ill have in the paint job. It will be a lot of fun though. L20B with dual side draft Dellortos for now...the SR swap will be for after the wifes car is up and running. That one is a 1.6 4 spd now, pretty nutless.( I found the car in Stowe, for $250,cant complain too loud I guess) My L20B goes pretty good in my truck as-is,the car has a lot of weight reduction, upgraded brakes, and a 4.11 LSD,should outperform the pickup.Plus I have a couple interesting cylinder heads, and camshafts that were made for racing in the 70s. I just dont want it to be too high-strung for when it gets transplanted into the blue car.

Ill throw some pics up soon..its actually an FJ40,that someone cut down, and made into the 45.The work looks to be pretty good,it has an oak flatbed, rebuilt straight 6,new carb ,exhaust,on and on....31s for now,but after the springover conversion,Ill try for 35s.This truck was in Lewiston,on the road about 12 years ago. I saw it for sale about 5 years ago,but had a lifted off road Ranger,so I couldn't see buying the Toyota at the time. I sold my SR swapped 240sx last fall, had a pocketful of cash, and saw it still sitting at the guys house for $3300.Offered $1900,got countered $2000,and took it home. He owned it for 9 years, never got it running. I owned it for 25 minutes, checked no. 1 TDC,turned the distributor 180 degrees, added fresh gas and coolant, and took it for a ride hahaha.

Smelt you should let me drive that to work some day. The ten of us there would get pretty excited about that dandy!

Everybody at my shop laughs every time I pull in with it...."the Mr Bean car" or "the clownmobile" usually... I actually got pulled over so a cop could check it out! Ill bring it to one of the "no salt on the road" meets. salt kills Datsuns.

Sounds good. I'll get shorty to come, and the old man would like to see it but he'd never go to a meet.
