Exhaust help ...

So, I've located the exhaust I want. Invidia N1. I can get the race style catback (no resonator in midpipe) for $350 used. I don't want the exhaust to be too loud. I just love how the invidia sounds on a Subaru ...

If I get a catted downpipe, will it still be insanely loud without the resonator? Should I shell out the extra $150+ to get a new one with a resonator? I plan to keep the stock exhaust in case I need it for a sticker, but I don't want to be pulled over all the time because it's too loud.

Would I possibly be able to find someone down the road to trade for a resonated midpipe?

I could technically just use the axelback for now as another option, correct?

Sounds great. WAY loud. If you have any concern for volume you'll get the resonated version.

Also, I doubt the axel back flanges are in the same location as stock as the Invidia runs a lot straighter form downpipe to tailpipe.

Alright, I may have to do that then. I don't want to be obnoxious .. I just love the grumble that comes with the invidia

So, I found a resonated midpipe (not for the invidia; it goes straight back like the stock mp, not diagonal like the invidia). $40 will get it for me but would I be able to cut that and reweld it to match up to the angle of the invidia? or would that be too difficult to do?

you won't know for sure till you get under there and start hacking and tacking

welcome to the wonderful world of freelance scooby mods...make em up as you go along

Well, I'll have the invidia midpipe as well, so it shouldn't be too hard to match, correct?

I highly doubt it's worth the time/aggravation/cost unless you are gonna be doing all the fab work yourself and are looking for a project.
