Exhaust manifold

Well just finished my up and down and catback install.. When i get on the gas theres kind of a fluttering exhaust sound coming from the front of my car could this be the exhaust manifold leaking?

could be you didn't tighten something enough or it didn't line up right. every exhaust leak i've ever had did sound like a fluttering

hmm.... might be after the turbo? or if before, because it's building pressure? everything i've owned is n/a, so the faster the exhaust goes the easier it skips by the leak...

what i used to do is put the car on ramps, crawl under it and have a helper rev it to locate the leak. or when it's cold at startup do this and have someone put their hand over the muffler outlet, so all the steamy exhaust is visible leaking out

I'm guessing you just went from a bone stock, sewing machine exhaust to completely catless...

That "fluttering" you're hearing is called wastegate flutter and it's normal to hear on a catless turbo suby.

Just my guess.

It's fairly loud, but it depends on where your at. If I go under a bridge or if I'm next to a guardrail, the sound echoes and seems louder than if I'm just cruizin' some back road.
