Bad things happens with cars. Whether it be a blown, motor, trans, or wheel, things happen. This thread is for pictures of when things go wrong spontaneously, or through neglect.
We have a picture thread for generic pictures. I come across enough automotive destruction to make a separate thread instead of flooding the pictures thread, so why not.
We also already have a "fail" thread, but I figured it was full of motivational posters and recycled internet humor, and less automotive catastrophes. Go to that thread if you want to type fail in all caps, this thread isn't for that.
Feel free to contribute guys.
And now onto the show:

Another one, I don't have the story for this one, I'll try and include the stories when I can.I posted a week ago about my latest CL find, a 2005 Mazda6 for $3700 which didn't start. Turns out, it's ****ed. It had a cam journal which started to seize, which sent the cam timing off (cam gear/cam aren't keyed), and shut it off.
Spent the weekend putting a new head on it, started it up, runs fine except it has rod knock. Pulled the pan...
Half the bearings are bad. The oil goes straight through the crank. How the hell are 1/3 fine and 2/4 are trashed? Threw a manual oil pressure gauge on, the pressure is fine. Maybe it was starved of oil at some point, but even then, why aren't all four rod bearings screwed? Why didn't any of the other cam journals act up?
uess I'll put rod bearings on it this week and we'll see what happens.
Some older reposts from the picture thread for the new guys / people who haven't seen them:
