FOILED AGAIN.... By Websense!!! ERRR

I haven't been on in a few weeks, looks like I missed a few things. I have been busy on the weekends and the engineering company I work for upgraded thier NetNanny like software called WEBSENSE on Jan 1st. Ever since I haven't been able to access the site, it says something like, "The web content type FORUMS AND MESSAGE BOARDS is restricted".

This is the second time that they have allowed me access to a site for several months before deciding to dissalow it. Its funny though because the also prevent us from seeing anything to do with games, social networking, forums and sex. But they still allow us to use myspace unrestricted. Unfortunately I could really give a damn about Myspace. I also don't have High Speed available where I live so I ussually wait for the weekends to use the web at a friends house. Anyway, I guess my posts will just have to be more infrequent. On the positive side, I recieved my Rally Armor UR Mudflaps a few days ago, now I just need a warm day to put them on!

hey bud. sorry to hear about your new web filter. they had one on here at work too. see if you can make friends with someone who has a master login, or a generic logon that allows web access. . .. . that's about all i can suggest. unfortunately, the new web filters are pretty darn good at what they do. . ..

Ugh, I hate web filters

For the most part places don't block sshing out. So I run a VPN on my server so I can get through blocks. Places that do run ssh blocks I use a php proxy program I made, it doesn't work awesome but gets the job done. I can actually text my server commands from my cell phone, so I can tell it if I need some proxy turned on or off, or to change to a different port or something .... heh. I'm one of them sneaky bastards.

Make friends with someone who has an awesome server sitting on their desk at home.

I am friends with the head of IT at our company. He is one of those Guys that understands, but won't make a change just for you on a company PC. However if I have any trouble with something I computer related at home that I am unfamiliar with, I can ussually count on him. From what I understand, the company monitors web use now. If I got caught being sneaky and trying to get around Websense, which I know is possible, then I run a risk of getting fired. Not likely to happen, but if they come up with a new list of layoffs I don't want to give them any reason to move my name on to the list. If I absolutely have to, I can probably post from my Motorola Q.

On another note, anyone have any recommendations on installing these rally armor flaps on an 09 WRX Hatchback? I was going to install them yesterday, but then I decided I should wait untill I can use a friends heated Garage. It looked like installing the rear flaps could be a pain in the ass outside in the cold. I have done significantly harder installs by myself before of course, I just didn'y wanna disassemble part of my car in a cold, open driveway in the winter. What do you guys recommend?
