If they don't shup up and agree on something to watch first thing in the AM it will B first come forst server... I am within inches of putting the TV through my front bay window right about now...

If it happens more than likely a PS3, Wii and a rash of controllers, accessories and games is also out the window...

they are ****** 6 and 10... .they are in there arguing over the three channels they are allowed to watch....

Maybe I will lock the TV on C-span for a week or so...

I will now cover your front lawn with mattresses to cushion the landing, and will camp there until I'm notified that the crisis is over, heh.

It is now unplugged and they are staring longingly at a black screen that shall remain unilluminated for an undisclosed period of time.......

I guess in hindsight I should thank my parents for NOT allowing me to become sedintary in front of a television in my earlier life. to this day, for the most part I would prefer to B outside splitting wood with a plastic fork instead of infront of the Tv

forgive me for saying this... IT is my opinion that we have become to soft on our kids. On a daily basis I see kids throwing fits and getting exactly what they want, not performing and sitting around getting obese and getting away with it.... I go to school events and see a bunch of rotund, hyperactive little kids whose parents have ZERO control anymore. We are rasing a generation of staypuft marshmellows... We are in no way preparing them for what they will face in the real world...

I agree 100%. I also believe that all teenagers should be required to WORK on a farm for atleast two years to gain an understanding of 1: Work, 2: Gain knowledge of our grandfathers Heritage and those who work everyday in this country to feed us 3: RESPECT.

I got 2 step children,32 and 28 and my boy is 16.:DBeen their done that and got the freakin tee shirt.I stayed home on the farm to raise the last one....I liked the comment on work ,farm, and respect the hippy:D

i will say being younger that i am one of only 2 of my friends that have been working since they were 14 and that the others that didnt seem to complain more about work then i can handle sometimes all i do is deal with people who complain at work i dont need to hear that outside of the workplace

I ain't gonna work on Maggie's Farm no more.

(apologies to bob, but not really)

for me it was learning respect for farmers thru high school summers working for hippies raising LEGAL plants in a greenhouse, mixing potting soil in a cement mixer, rolling out huge tarps to kill weeds before planting veggie beds, weeding until my fingers were bleedin etc etc

and then there was chores at home...cutting-bucking-splitting-stacking-hauling firewood, mucking out pony stalls, hauling hay, stacking hay, schlepping 50lb grain sacks etc etc

best part of working as a kid around ponies was the fascinating new species those animals attracted....as in female human cuties, mmm, I LOVED them ponies!

Sounds like my life minus the horses:).Love the lifestyle but the dollar per hour ratio sucks.

There is a lot of truth to that. I've worked with horses at professional barns for seven of the past eight years. Horse chicks might be a little crazy, but they certainly are nice to look at.
