Garage day needed soon

Hi everyone,

I can't afford to get the Forester fixed at a garage, so I need to borrow some garage space so I can do it myself. I know this is really short notice, but I am hoping to tackle it this weekend. I can't have a vehicle out of commission for very long, since my wife is bumming rides from her boss so she can get to work.

I'm also looking for some people to help turn wrenches. I _need_ to do the following items:

Head Gasket

Water Pump

Valve cover gaskets & seals

CAM seals

Timing Belt

Belt tensioner

Misc. Seals/Gaskets while it's out

Front Axles

Engine mounts & dog bone

At a later date/if time allows:

Rear swaybar endlinks

Trailing arm endlinks

Front struts

I know there are those who have really helped me out before, and I really don't want to wear out a spot on the welcome matte... but I would greatly appreciate if I could borrow a hand or two again. :help:

i wish i could help but i'll be wrapping up putting a new head on my dads forester this weekend.

my advice? put PB blaster on the header bolts now and the day before as well. and if its a sohc motor you dont need to have the whole thing out to do that work. the heads can be pulled with the block still in the car, and the timing belt & components can be easily replaced once the belt is off the motor because of the heads. all those valve cover seals can be done then too. may want to get rear cam cap seals too, they often leak.

Wow... suxxors.

And I have Friday - Sunday off from "work"...

Looks like a tow to Evergreen is the next step then. Bummerz.

Make sure to tow with back wheels on the ground. Fozzies LOVE that shiat.

If I had a garage (or tools, or any know-how at all) I'd let you use it, man.

well, if spinmastert is willing to postpone his detailing session this sunday, you can use my garage. I can help as well.

Will do. Just as soon as you dig up a crystal ball there, bud. :thebirdman:
just buy a car I want to buy... *knocks on wood* never had a major leak, just small ones... nothing that left me stranded or carless.
