Anybody here use the stuff?

I am basically looking for something that will keep oil and junk from soaking into the garage floor. I had it in the machine shop at my college and it was pretty good. But it wasn't the kind that is thick with the color flakes

Basically what works and what doesn't?

I is.

Preparations. If I don't do it before the garage is filled with a miata being torn apart it ain't happenin.

I picked up a pamphlet at home depot about some garage floor sealer stuff. It was in the paint section. Looks pretty durable and you get to choose the color. I think I am going to do it to my garage at some point. When I get home, I will post the name.

I have looked at the rustoleum kits and have heard mixed reviews on them.

and yeah movin out of Kbunk. Buying a house.

it is completely Mainely Subarus BBQ/meet worthy. plenty 'O parking.

Yea, I've heard mixed reviews about the garage paint and epoxy kits that you can get at places like Home Depot and Lowes.

They seem to last maybe 5-10 years, if done perfectly right, before it will start flaking off, or forming bubbles under the paint. If not done absolutely perfect...you'll be doing it again in a few years. That stuff is really best to do on a new concrete surface, that has never had any oil or other contaminants on it.

Just etch it first and you should be good. watch the fumes though.
if it doesn't have toxic fumes it's not the good stuff (seriously)

solvent based products are far superior to water based.

Forget Home Cheapo, etc. Contact a major commercial supplier, I would suggest A H Harris, and see what they recommend.

I believe we used an epoxy based floor coating, grey with the flakes, in the shop at the farm. It seems to be holding up really well, inspite of constant tractor, bulldozer, excavator, vehicle, and misc small equipment tracking over it. I'll look to see what brand we used.

I think the ucoatit stuff works on wood

prTt & lambert makes some solvent based floor coatings that I found on NASTIOC.

sweet thanks!

that stuff will probably be what we get. and some of the regular concrete sealer for the walls.

how what color should I do the walls??? anybody have an idea?

cement and kitty litter works for me....if I had my own garage.

Lite colors or white FTW. I absolutly hate being in the dark while working on whatever. One thing I miss about Patriot, tons of light, natural, reflected, and illuminated.

I hear you on the light colors.

when TBL ditched all of the PAR30 size track fixtures I snagged a couple boxes of them. So once I find some compatible track I think they will be making an appearance in the new garage with some brightass CFL's.
