Gauge/sensor question

With the addition of power I think its time to start monitoring vitals. Not to mention with new header and up-pipe pre-installation, now is the perfect time to add any necessary probe bungs. My question is do I really need 4 sensors (factory egt, gauge egt, factory "wideband", gauge wideband) or can I splice the factory egt wires and get a proper reading to the ecu and the gauge? Wideband (from what I've read) will require both because the factory sensor is more of a mediocre narrowband and the ecu won't handle wideband.

Tldr: can I splice factory egt sensor and get proper reading to ecu and gauge?

I know I'm pretty late to this topic, but I tried to splice my A/F gauge in my legacy and am getting no reading on the gauge. The sensor is a four wire. If you haven't already done so I would recommend adding a new sensor, if not, let me know what you did since my A/F gauge still doesn't work.

if your splicing into the stock sensor, that's a narrow band gauge which is completely and utterly useless. buy a wideband if you actually want to be able to monitor your air/fuels

Haven't pulled the trigger on anything yet but I'm probably going lc-1 for the wideband and prosport EVO for the boost.
