ok so i took wrx nate's suggestion and got some eagle one wax as you dry. man that stuff is jesus in a bottle. all my little scratches i had from washign with a bad mit are now gone completly and i didnt even have to wax and claybar the car and the results are amazing. i suggest everyone use this product after washing

told you..... i use this basically every time i wash (because im drying off the car anyway) and i do a full wax only twice a year. my car ALWAY beads water and stays looking shiney.

dont use it on your glass and if you wipe your wheels down with it dont spray it on them, spray it on the cloth and wipe it on. its not good on your rotors.

i start with a clean chamios cloth and wipe all my windows. then i start on the rest of the car. that way i dont have to have the wax in my rag and go back to the windows (leaves steaks) then i wash out my rag before i roll it up to put it away. i also use one for the paint, and one for my wheels.

I have always been a fan of Meguiar's products, but I might have to try this stuff out. On the side, I just moved and my drive way is under a massive pine tree....that means tree sap on my car:mad:. Any tricks to get it off without killing my clear coat?

That would be awesome, but the damn thing is over 70 feel tall, surrounded by utility lines....and I'm renting.

this is the stuff i use....

its a really nice stuff. and if your dry your car down anyway, why not give your car a little extra protection. just keep it off the windows.

as for pine sap... dont let it dry hard! get it while its soft. i have a huge maple tree that good for some big globs of sap in the spring time. pick off what you can while its soft with a napkin/paper towel. then i use "incredible pink". its a heavy duty degreaser cleaner. i buy it at napa. do yourself a favor and dilute it by half. its fairly strong stuff, and for car cleaning 50/50 with water is more then strong enough to do those kinda jobs. spray on (just the sap) while the car is wet, and you shouldnt need to do much more then wipe it around with your index finger. it should loosen that stuff right off. might take a couple of applications, and a little elbow grease. just be careful to not scrape too much with your fingernails. just use your finger. then rinse it down good/wash the rest of the car.

just make sure you wax those areas afterwards. the incredible pink is good for stripping off the wax also. use the eagle one^^^^^^^^

side note: while your at it. i start my car wash by taking my soapy brush and spraying it down with a good amount of incredible pink, then i wipe it on the nose of the car, and mirrors. then i go about washing a different area of the car. by the time i get back to do the front, the bugs wipe right off. nothing else softens the bug guts like that. just be carefull about spraying it on straight. it has a way of attacking (streaking) raw plastics like headlight, and black plastics. so only spray it on an already soapy brush. if it does, some good wax (i love turtle wax ice, its amazing on plastics) on the headlights will take the streaks out.

Wow, usually I like doing my own car cleaning stuff but I might need to hire you for my winter prep! Great info man!

Mayo or Eagle One?

I spent a little time yesterday getting off some of the old stuff with success. I have more time today to get the rest of it. Again, thanks for the info guys.

I am going to have to second the title of this thread. I saw this thread the other day and decided to give it a try. Keep in mind I wasn't expecting a great job, just a good job since I have OBP paint. THIS STUFF IS AMAZING!!!!! I haven't waxed in about 2 1/2 months becuase I still have a little overspray here and there and some places where the clear fogged on the surface and needs a little buffing. But you wouldn't notice unless I pointed it out and yu were squinting at it now. This stuff... so easy to apply and does such an amazing finish. practically ALL of the swirly buffer marks are gone as well as most of the scratches. My cat tried to jump on the hood just before the wash and raked the hood, grill and front bumper. that's almost invisible too!!! And I would not worry about the windows. Maguire's ultra detailer takes it right off. I would rather use this once a week than wax my car every 2 months. A normal exterior wash and wax normally takes me 6 to 8 hours to do a good job. I did a better job with Eagle 1 in just about 2 hours. YEAH 2 HOURS!!!!!! Time to party!

Sorry Kristof, I might have been a bit of a jerk there. Didn't mean to steal the lime light from your thread. I was just excited that it was so easy.
