Got oil on my parka

I got oil all over the front of my LL Bean parka taking a cylinder head to the machine shop the other day.I've already spent $6 at the laundromat trying to get it out,but no luck.I tried Dawn detergent before that. This is like a $200+ parka!! I had JUST washed it recently, too. Is it ruined?

just convince ll bean that your dissatisfied with the parkas stain-resisting powers. ;D

If it is cloth and NOT nylon you can use brakleen part cleaner and it should take care of it. I used to use it on car interiors when they would get grease stained and it worked great. Try it in a small inconspicuouse part and see how it does. It will stink while you use it but will evaporate quick, so get a brush and clean while wet and let dry.

Its 75% cotton,25% nylon and 25% Mobil One.

It's 125% cookieed.

Yeah,Evan,it crossed my mind. ;D

If you haven't put it in the dryer you might still have a chance at getting some fo it out.

I have used a product similiar to oxyclean on my garage rags and a lot of the oil came out.

There's a place in the Gorham Industrial park called Chem Quest.

They sell a product called Oxy Mite that is awesome.
